The great home of the soul, is the open road – D.H. Lawrence
Living in Alberta, you can’t help but feel the calling of the open road. Big, blue skies. Endless miles of prairie and farmland. Highways starting in the foothills and leading to the Rocky Mountains beyond. There is some truly outstanding scenery at our fingertips.
The season of road tests is upon us, and day after day we see people walking in to the Registry with the hopes of walking out with their drivers licence. It’s the ultimate symbol of freedom in a city of drivers and province of highways. The successful completion of a road test can be challenging. The rules are strict, yet, also subjective. It’s an emotionally charged business for all involved.
But when you are properly prepared, and you totally nail that parallel park on first try. Well, it’s exhilarating. We all celebrate in your victory.
We’d love to know where the open road takes YOU this summer. Hope it’s somewhere awesome. And for a little inspiration, add this song to your road trip playlist from Calgary’s own Paul Brandt.
